Abstract

1,100,294. Jacketed hot water bottle. W. W. HAFFENDEN Ltd. 28 Feb. 1966 [18 May, 1965], No. 20929/65. Heading A5X. A rubber hot water bottle 1 is furnished with a decorative and/or heat-retaining jacket by locating the bottle over a first flexible web 7, applying adhesive to the web adjacent a major part of the bottle periphery but outboard thereof, locating a second flexible web 8 to overlie said adhesive and uniting the first and second sheets to one another and to the adjacent periphery or seam 2 of the bottle by means of said adhesive under the influence of heat and pressure. A head 9 of cured fabric is formed around the bottle edge. The envelope may terminate round the neck portion and be covered by a rubber 'band 6. The jacket may comprise an inner layer of felt material and an outer layer of woven or knitted fabric or ornamented plastic film, and the adhesive may be based on vulcanizable natural rubber.
