Abstract

1,198,187. Terminals. SIEMENS A.G. 28 Nov., 1968 [29 Nov., 1967], No. 56593/68. Heading H2E. [Also in Division F2] A device for clamping an electric lead to a contact surface comprises an arched washer 6 and a screw I having a head 3 at one end of a shank which is provided with a non-threaded portion 2, an annular ridge 4 and a threaded portion 5, the arched washer 6 being supported on the shank by two diametrically opposed abutments (8) (Fig. 2, not shown) projecting radially inwardly of the washer hole in a direction parallel to the apical line of the washer arch. The washer 6 may be hardened after being located on the shank of the screw and the whole device may be coated with cadmium applied by electrodeposition. The end of an electric lead to be clamped by the device is introduced beneath the washer 6 in a direction parallel to the apical line so that it can be sandwiched between the washer and a contact surface into which the screw is tightened. The hole of the washer 6 may be provided with bevelled portions 10 between the abutments (8).
