A pipe vice has a base part 2 provided with a pipe support 1 and also has a clamping arm 3 formed of two pivotally interconnected clamping arm parts 3a, 3b ; the former carries a pipe-clamping element 4 and is pivotally connected at 5 to a clamping pin 7 adapted to be displaced by an eccentric 6, and the second clamping arm part 3b has a series of detents 9 which can be brought into selective engagement with the base part 2 according to the diameter of the pipe to be clamped.
