Abstract

1,197,440. Cosmetic containers. BETTS & CO. Ltd. 30 Nov., 1967 [1 Dec., 1966], No. 53824/66. Heading B8P. A " screw-type " cosmetic container having outer and inner, relatively rotatable, tubular members 18, 16 provided respectively with double start helical grooves 17 and axially extending slots 15, comprises a cosmetic carrier 10 having two diametric lugs 14 for engagement with the slots and grooves, and two diametric friction pads 19, integral with a skirt 13, for frictionally engaging the inner surface of the inner tubular member 16. The pads 19 are connected to the main skirt portion by straps 20b. The carrier is an integral moulding of resilient plastics, and the inner and outer tubular members are formed from a more rigid plastics material. In an alternative embodiment the inner member may include helical slots and the outer member may include axial grooves or slots, or in a modification of the described embodiment the outer member may include helical slots.
