A toy building construction kit comprises first building blocks 52 in the form of frames, which may be rectangular (particularly square) or triangular, and second building blocks 54 which fit into the first blocks 52 on shoulders formed on their interior periphery 72, the second building blocks having means thereon to simulate wall or roof construction materials, e.g. B-Brick, VF-ventical fluting, G-glass and T- tair. The first building blocks have co-operating projections 70 and grooves 68 enabling them to be fitted together and to column forming building blocks 58 which form a frame for joining walls to walls and roof of a toy building. A balcony simulating building block 56 is provided which engages adjacent sides of two first building blocks, Figs. 14, 15 (not shown). A set back construction building block 60 adapted to fit into an inside corner of a first building block enables a second structure to be built upon the roof ,of a first, e.g. SB on MB of Fig. 1. Special shapes of second building blocks 54, e.g. D- domed and P-pyramid, have four projections 70, one at each corner, which co-operate with the corners of the first building blocks.
