Abstract

1,195,911. Supporting crates and other containers for filling. " AUTOMATIC " SPRINKLER CORP. OF AMERICA. 7 March, 1967 [20 June, 1966], No. 10654/67. Headings B8C and B8H. [Also in Division F2] A case is centred on a tray 10 by a set of parallel alignment members 32, mounted on lazy tongs 16, to move apart symmetrically when the case is slid between them. The lazy tongs, which are mounted on a platform 28, are biased together by a spring 36 and the alignment members may carry rubber bumpers 36. To enable the case to be raised, e.g. to facilitate filling, the platform itself is mounted on a lazy tongs framework 40, operated by a piston 54. A bar 46d in the framework 40 is located in a notch 62 when the platform is in the upper position and a shock-absorbing device (64), Fig. 3 (not shown), prevents damage due to bottoming upon lowering the platform.
