Abstract
1,195,640. Electro-phoretic coatings. LANDIS & GYR A.G. Sept. 26, 1968 [Sept. 29, 1967], No.45812/68. Heading C7B. Stable anti-friction varnish coatings are produced on articles by electro-phoretically coating the article as anode in an aqueous suspension of clear varnish with a finely divided dry lubricant in a weight ratio of 9:1 to 1:1 with a solids content of 8 to 15% by weight for ¢ to 10 minutes using 5 to 160 volts D.C. The solid lubricant may be graphite, MoS 2 , MOSe 2 , WS 2 , WSe 2 , NbS 2 , NbSe 2 , TaS 2 , TaSe 2 , TiTe 2 , VSe 2 , CaF 2 , B 3 N 4 or P.T.F.E. After coating, the article may be washed and the coating hardened at 160 to 240‹C.
