Abstract

1,193,438. Medicines comprising barbiturates. P. GOLD-AUBERT AND D. MELKONIAN. 26 Oct., 1967 [26 Oct., 1966], No. 48120/66. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions, having antitremor activity, tranquillising and sedative properties, contain as the active ingredient at least one novel barbituric acid derivative of the formula wherein R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP>, which may be the same or different, are hydrogen atoms, or aliphatic araliphatic or aryl groups, and R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP>, which may be the same or different, are aliphatic groups each of which carries at least one carbamyloxy group. The above compositions may also contain as further active ingredients at least one compound of the general formula, above in which R<SP>4</SP> is hydrogen and/or at least one compound of a general formula above in which both R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are hydrogen.
