Abstract

1,192,691. Counters. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 29 Oct., 1968 [6 March, 1968], No. 10924/68. Heading G4D. The armature of an electromagneticallyoperated counter is constrained by a linkage to move rectilinearly. The armature 11 is carried by a parallelogram linkage 12, 15, 17 and biased away from the poles 4, 5 of the electromagnet by an adjustable spring 19. Energization and release of the magnet steps a ratchet wheel 25 to advance decimal indicating and print wheels 30, 31. These wheels carry contact pips 32- 35 co-operating with printed circuits 36, 37 to provide carry to the next denomination, decimal read-out, or setting to a predetermined number.
