[Also in Division B5] A plate having a surface layer 9 of high impact polystyrene laminated to a thicker backing layer 8 of foamed polystyrene is shaped to have a rim 7 rising from and surrounding the food-supporting surface 6 of the plate, the rim extending outwards and downwards from its line of maximum height. A cover of plastics material may be bonded to the rim of the plate along the line of maximum height of the rim.
