Abstract

1,190,877. Resuscitator. LIFE AID PRODUCTS Ltd. 30 Aug., 1968 [8 May, 1968], No. 41667/68. Heading AST. A resuscitator comprises a bellows 44 with an internal coil-spring 42, a mouthpiece 48 at one end and a container 14 at the other end, the container holding a supply of oxygen under pressure in a coiled tube 26, from which it can be supplied to the bellows, through an apertured plate 28, by a manually-controllable valve 32. The container is provided with a cover 12 which nets over a flange 20 when the bellows is compressed. An apertured flared dished member 50 is located within the bellows adjacent to the mouthpiece to form an abutment for one end of the spring 42. The valve 32 includes an inlet-port 38, normally closed by a plug 40, through which the tube 26 can be replenished, the apertured plate 28 being being removable to permit access.
