Abstract

1,189,498. Container closures; brush scrapers. L. L. KELLETT. 12 Dec., 1967 [12 Dec., 1966], No. 56489/67. Headings B8D and B8T. A flexible plastics insert 14, particularly for a screw-capped container, comprises a cylindrical body 16 for fitting tightly into the container neck 10, with a flange 18 for overlying the neck 10, and the lower end of the insert 14 terminates in a pair of elongated lips 24, which converge to form a generally elliptical opening bounded by coplanar wiping edges 34 which remove excess liquid from a brush applicator (not shown) during withdrawal. Owing to its viscosity the liquid takes some time to drain back, thus forming a temporary liquid seal. Specification 683,932 is referred to.
