Abstract
1,188,474. Magnetic heads. FMC CORP. 21 May, 1968 [29 May, 1967], No. 24220/68. Heading G5R. To prevent counterfeiting, information is recorded on, and read from, a magnetic strip portion of a ticket by write and read neads having gaps which are not linear when viewed as from the record. As shown, the ticket 13 is driven between guide plates 24 by rollers 25 and past an encapsulated write head 20 having an arcuate gap 32, Fig. 8. Alternatively, the gap may be V-shaped or arcuate but divided into two marginal gaps by a central spacer (Figs. 9-12, not shown).
