Abstract

An endotracheal tube preformed with a curved profile from a synthetic polymeric material comprises a bevelled end 16, a gently curving portion 11, optionally having an inflatable cuff 18, and a curved portion 14 terminating in an enlarged end portion 13 which serves as an adapter to which auxiliary equipment may be attached. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown), the curved portion 14 is replaced by a flexible corrugated portion. Suitable materials for the tube are P.V.C. and polypropylene.
