Abstract

1,186,790. Gelatincomposition. GAF CORP. 15 Nov., 1967 [16 Nov., 1966; 1 Aug., 1967], No. 51935/67. Heading C3H. [Also in Division G2] A gelatin composition comprises gelatin which has been digested in the presence of a compound of the formula wherein R is halogen or nitro and n is 1, 2 or 3. The gelatin so treated has improved resistance to fogging when used in photographic emulsion. Compounds specified are benzaldehyde, o-, m- and p-nitrobenzaldehyde, o-chloro- and obromobenzaldehyde and 2: 6-dichlorobenzaldehyde.
