Abstract

1,185,082. Automatic electrical coffee pot. MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO. Ltd. 28 March, 1967, No. 14164/67. Heading A4D. [Also in Divisions H1 and, H5] An automatic electrical coffee pot is heated by a conventional resistance heater 55 to boiling point and maintained at an elevated temperature below boiling point by a titanate ceramic heating element 39, which has an abrupt increase in resistance at a higher temperture and an abrupt decrease in resistance at a lower temperature, the two heater elements 55, 39 being in series (see also Division H3-5). A plurality of ceramic elements with differing characteristics may be used, Fig. 12 (not shown). The coffee-holder support tube 64 has an adjustable port 68 for controlling the flow of steam. A neon lamp lights up when the coffee is being maintained at the elevated temperature. Different relative positions of the heater elements in the coffee-pot are described, Figs. 14-17 (not shown). The coffee-holder base 63 stands over the ceramic heater 45 so as not to affect thermal transfer between heater and liquid.
