Abstract

In the processing of seismic records obtained by generating seismic waves successively at two different depths at the same location and detecting the ensuing waves in the same spread of detectors, delay means, e.g. 80 produces a plurality of output signals and attenuations are applied to the output signals which are thereafter summed; according to the invention the attenuations are the solutions of a matrix equation involving the auto- and cross-correlation functions of originating signals x 1 (t) and x 2 (t). Multiple reflections and other undesired signals are thereby reduced on the final record.
