Abstract
1,183,624. Rotary cylinder engines, pumps or motors. M. T. KAIPAINEN. March 8, 1967 [March 12, 1966], No. 10945/67. Headings F1A and F1B. In a rotary cylinder engine, pump or motor the block 2 rotates on a stationary shaft 1 in which is eccentrically mounted a rotary shaft 6 on the end of which is formed an eccentric disc 5 mounted in the piston 4. The eccentricity of the disc 5 relative to the shaft 6 equals the distance between the axes of the shafts 1 and 6. In an I. C. engine the drive is preferably taken from the extension 21 of the block 2. For a pump or hydraulic motor, either shaft 6 or 21 may be driven but preferably shaft 6. The shafts 6, 21 may be inter-connected by gear wheels. The cross-section of the piston 4 and cylinder 3 may be circular, polygonal or oval.
