Abstract
1,182,179. Licorice compositions. NIPPON KAYAKU K.K. 14 June, 1967 [22 June, 1966], No. 27492/67. Heading A5B. An anti-peptic ulcer composition comprises at least one agent selected from atropine and its salts, scopolamine and its salts and crude drug extracts having antispasmodic and gastric anti-secretory action and at least one extract obtained by a process which comprises extracting licorice with an alcohol having 1-3 carbon atoms or an alkyl ketone in which each alkyl group has 1-3 carbon atoms. The licorice extract may be fractionally precipitated by dissolving it in alkali and reprecipitating it with acid.
