Abstract

1,181,512. Roller conveyers. RELIANCE (CORDS & CABLES) Ltd. 31 March, 1967 [3 March, 1966], No. 9256/66. Heading B8A. A channel-sectioned structural member having corresponding notches equi-distantly spaced along the longitudinal edges thereof, is adapted for use as both the framework of a roller conveyer 31 and part of a structure supporting the said framework. In the latter case two channel sections are connected together to form an H-sectioned member 52 forming an upright or inclined strut of the structure, the struts being coupled to horizontal tubular members 55 by U-bolts 54 and plates 56. The bolts 54 register in the slots in the structural members. Each channel member forming the roller conveyer framework is connected to the horizontal members 55 via a U-bolt, the ends of which are received in holes in the base of the member. Each roller 33 is rotatably mounted on a plastic or steel shaft, the ends of which are locked in the notches by deformation of the notch entrances and/or by deformation of the shaft ends. A stop plate for items on the roller conveyer is provided at the end of the channel member. The ends of the H-sectioned struts are received in C-sectioned members each having holes therein which align with the notches to facilitate a bolted joint and endplates which either rest on the ground or are provided with holes to facilitate bolting to a further part of the structure.
