Abstract

1,180,303. Cleaning apparatus for textile machinery. LUWA A.G. 14 March, 1968 [17 March, 1967], No.12449/68. Heading F4X. A pneumatic cleaning apparatus for a weaving loom 10 comprises blower pipes 53, 54, 56 having nozzles 68 directed at the warp stop motion 18, nozzles 64, 66 directed at heddles 20 and a collector funnel 33 and nozzles 60, 62 directed at the heddles 20 and comb 24 respectively. The pipes are connected to a common air distribution connector 55 by flexible tubing and thence to a common supply of pressurized air (not shown) through an air chest 38 and a duct 42, and a pipe 52 is mounted on a lathe 22 so as to be movable therewith. The funnel 33 is situated beneath the loom and formed from mutually inclined cover plates 31, 32 which lead into a suction aperture 34 connected to a suction source to receive fly and dirt conveyed by air from the blower pipes.
