A windscreen wiper assembly comprises two wiper blades each in a holder and/or provided with a backing strip, and attached to a yoke or yoke assembly, wherein the two wiper blade assemblies are parallel and longitudinally displaced and interconnected by a bridging member integral with or attached to a wiper arm movable either arcuately or linearly over the windscreen.
