Apparatus for monitoring the state of motion of a rotatable body comprises a permanent magnet driven by the body (about an axis normal to its magnetic axis) a magnetically-activated magnetically unpolarized switch, operated by the rotating magnet so as to generate electrical impulses, and integrating and amplifying circuits to activate signals and/or control means.
