Abstract

1,180,047. Conduit attachments; multi-layer pipes. J. CHARNOCK. 18 Sept., 1967, No. 42431/67. Headings F2G and F2P. In a method of securing a tail-piece 1 to each end of a pipe 4, filamentary reinforcements 7 are laced in unbroken spiral formation around a series of studs 3 projecting from the tail-piece. The reinforcement 7 is a cord or wire strand in one or more layers wound in opposite directions. Discs 5 are adhesively united to the ends 6 of pipe 4 which is of rigid or semi-rigid plastics material. The reinforcement may be protected against corrosion by an outer protective sheath 8.
