Abstract
1,179,679. Multiple retractable ball-point pens. SCHMIDT, FABRIK FUR FEINMECHANIK GEB. 6 June, 1968 [2 Aug., 1967], No. 26984/68. Heading B6P. In a multiple retractable ball-point pen the cartridges 3 are held together about the longitudinal axis of the pen by a device such as a resilient rubber band 9. This prevents the cartridges from rattling in the front barrel portion 7 of the pen. In (Fig. 2), the band 9 is replaced by a sponge rubber or plastics annulus which contacts the inside of the barrel 7 and is held there by friction or adhesive. In (Fig. 3) a metal or plastics sleeve (11) is fitted into the barrel 7 and is provided with tapered conical section (12) which resiliently holds the cartridges together.
