Abstract

[Also in Division G1] A stabilized power supply circuit for a unit circuit Cr of a photo-electric smoke detector comprises a transformer with a mains inlet and 24 v. and 40 v. secondary windings SW1 and SW2. The winding SW1 is connected in parallel with a relay R 2 and lamps 12 through relay switches R 2 S 1 and R 2 S 2 , so that with the relay R 2 energized the lamps are connected to the winding SW 1 . The winding SW 2 is connected to a rectifier bridge B and the bridge output is connected with a smoothing capacitor C 1 , and the negative line with a Zener diode Z connected via a 5K resistor R 3 to the positive line. The junction of the diode Z and resistor R 3 is connected to the base of a transistor T 3 and to a capacitor C 2 leading to the negative line. The transistor collector leads to the positive line and also the emitter, a capacitor C 3 leading to the negative line. Relay switches R 2 S 3 , R 2 S 4 connect the negative and positive lines to the circuit Cr when the relay R 2 is energized. A mains failure will lead to the switches R 2 S 3 , R 2 S 4 connecting the supply to a standby battery unit By.
