Abstract
1,178,202. Spray producers; liquid filters. EUROPEAN ATOMIC ENERGY COMMUNITY. 10 April, 1968 [17 April, 1967], No. 17294/68. Headings B1D and B2F. Apparatus for use to provide a standard for use in the calibration of a quantitative detector for leaks of a particular substance or to provide a standard of comparison in such a detector, comprises a tank 1 for a sample of the substance, arranged to be pressurised, an outlet from the tank with a filter 7, a receptacle 9 for the filtered substance, a calibrated orifice 14 in an outlet from the receptacle, a collecting chamber 20 for the substance passing through the orifice and an outlet 19 from the chamber for connection to a leak detector. The filter may be ceramic, having pores of the order of magnitude of the orifice diameter. The orifice may be made of molybdenum, and the device may have means for heating the chamber tank and orifice, and ports 18 for introducing carrier gas to the chamber.
