Abstract

1,177,238. Self-loading vehicle with a jib crane. HIAB-FOCO A.B. 7 Dec., 1967, No. 55604/67. Headings B8E and B8H. A loading crane comprising an outer or rocker arm 5 pivoted at 11 to an inner arm 7 journalled to a turning post 4 is mounted on the loading bridge of a lorry 1 behind the driver's cabin 3. The inner arm 7, carrying the outer arm 5 is luffable, between limits indicated by arrows 9, 10 by an hydraulic piston-cylinder unit 8. The arms 5, 7 are interconnected by links 12, 13 pivoted respectively at 18, 15 and to each other at 14. The link 12 has an extension 12<SP>1</SP> to which is attached at 16 a doubleacting hydraulic piston-cylinder unit 6. The various distances D, E, F and G, Fig. 2, satisfy the inequality D+E<F+G so that even when the pivots 15-11-18 are in line (not shown) a turning movement for folding up the outer arm 5 is provided. The outer arm 5 can be pivoted from position B (transportation) through position A (operative) to position C (minimum reach) a total of nearly 360 degrees.
