Abstract
1,176,338. Spun filaments of uniform thickness. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 22 Dec., 1966 [29 Dec., 1965], No. 57345/66. Heading B5B. Spun filaments are produced by a process in which the rate of flow of solution to a spinneret comprising a plurality of nozzles is automatically controlled in dependence on the number of nozzles in operation, by a pressure-sensitive rate-control means responsive to changes in pressure upstream of the spinneret, the ratecontrol means being preset to provide an appropriate rate of flow for any number of nozzles in operation and thereby a substantially constant pressure upstream of the spinneret. The rate-control means may be a contact manometer. Natural or synthetic latex may be so spun.
