Abstract

1,175,772. Roller blinds. M. A. BELIN. 9 Jan., 1968, No. 1245/68. Heading A4B. A roller blind 2 has its thickened side edges 14 and the ends of its bottom bar 6 engaged in fixed guides 9 each comprising a first channel 10 to receive the blind edge 14, a second channel 11 to receive a ribbed part 18 of a ferrule 16 with a tail 17 fitted into the end of the bar 6, and a slot 12 interconnecting the two channels 10, 11 and serving to allow passage of the blind margins and a ferrule extension 19 to which the bottom of the blind 2 is attached. The blind edges are thickened by flexible straps 14 wrapped around these edges and carrying a series of spaced, headed studs 15 to guide and retain the edges in the channel 10. The bar 6 may contain ballast weights. The roller 7 has a groove 4 in which the upper edge of the blind is secured by a bead 3. The roller 7 is driven by a winch 5. The bar 6 has a groove 8 in which the lower blind edge is secured by a bead 7 and has a ledge 20 to limit upward movement of the blind 2.
