The pipe-bending machine of Specification 1,163,407, includes a stop located at X for limiting the travel of the roller 23 as bending takes place. The stop may be integral with the guide 26. Alternatively a setting piece 25 screwed or otherwise secured to the upper surface of the guide may also act as the stop, the guide being removed, after adjustment of the roller height with reference to the setting piece, and replaced in reversed disposition i.e. with the setting piece at X.
