1,173,620. Punching pattern tapes. Ed. DUBIED & CIE S.A. 15 Nov., 1967 [18 Jan., 1967], No. 52048/67. Heading D1E. [Also in Division G3] In a method of making a knitting machine pattern tape, data relating to the design to be knitted and the characteristics of the machine are processed in an electronic computer and the output used to produce a tape having as many tracks as there are knitting stations on the machine. The output is expressed on a punched tape, or magnetic or photographic tape. The perforator or the like producing the taps may be controlled directly, or via cards or tape, from the computer. The final tape may also be produced from cards via an intermediate tape having fewer tracks than the number of stations.
