Abstract

1,173,662. Valves. SHUNT AB VARMETEKNIK. 5 Jan., 1967 [1 Feb., 1966], No. 793/67. Heading F2V. The body 1 of a by-pass valve in a water heating system has an outlet 4 connected to a supply riser and provided with a turbulence chamber 13 having fins 14, 15 which mix the streams of hot and cold water entering the valve through ports 2, 3. Ports 2, 3 change is cross-section from circular at their outer ends to polygonal at their inner ends to produce a smooth flow through the valve. In a modification (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the valve has another port connected to a boiler return pipe, and the closure 9 is finned. Specification 1,032,590 is referred to.
