Abstract

1,173,209. Securing cushions. H. AMBROSE. 14 June, 1968 [23 June, 1967; 6 July, 1967], Nos. 29353/67 and 31178/67. Headings A4M. A back support comprises laterally spaced pads 9, 10 releasably secured to, and adjustably positioned on, either an intermediate member 2 secured to the seat back or the seat back itself so that the pads, 9, 10 and the back rest or member 2 together defines a cradle. As shown in Fig. 1, the intermediate member 2 is padded and carries a "Velcro" (Registered Trade Mark) fastener strip (11) to which a complementary strip 7 or 8 carrying a pad 9 or 10 is releasably secured. A flap 4 contains malleable bars 5 which may be bent to hook over the top of the back rest. Alternatively (Fig. 3) an intermediate member (2a) is provided with straps (12) for securing to the seat back. In a further embodiment, Fig. 4, the pads 9, 10 have fastener strips 16 releasably secured to complementary strips secured directly to the seat back 15. Further pads 17, 18, 20 are releasably secured to the seat squab 14.
