Abstract

1,173,055. Interrupters. R. PREUX. 20 April, 1967 [21 April, 1966], No. 18184/67. Heading H1N. A contactor comprises a member rotating without slipping on a flat surface, on the outside of a circular surface or on the inside of a circular surface so that actuating elements carried thereby describe trajectories of the cycloid, epicycloid or hypocycloid types and actuate contact sets on the flat or circular surfaces thereof which are located at the points of reflection, e.g. P 1 , P 2 of the trajectories. As shown, the rotating member E is pivoted in a frame D rotatable about an axis B and has a toothed portion E 1 which meshes with teeth A 1 formed circumferentially on housing A and a portion E 2 which carries bridging contacts C 1 , C 2 , C 3 and C 4 which co-operate with pairs of fixed contacts, e.g. M 1 , M 2 located at the points of reflection of said bridges inside the housing A. In an alternative arrangement the portion E 2 carries actuating elements which actuate change-over contact sets mounted at the points of reflection. The contact sets may be protected by annular walls of housing A. Alternatively, the actuating members may operate push-button switch units at the points of reflection.
