Abstract
1,172,743. PVC compositions. CIBA (A.R.L.) Ltd. 26 Aug., 1968 [21 Sept., 1967], No. 42954/67. Heading C3P. Chlorine-containing polymers, particularly PVC, are stabilized and if present in sufficient amount, plasticized by the addition of a compound of the formula in which R<SP>1</SP> is C 4 -C 22 alkyl, cycloalkyl or alkenyl and R is a C 2+ divalent radical containing no epoxy group; phthalate, tetra- or hexahydrophthalate, hexachloroendomethylenetetrahydrophthalate and succinate esters are exemplified. Also present may be bariumcadmium stearate and dioctyl or diisooctyl phthalate.
