Abstract

1,172,123. Calendar clocks. ENRICO BOSELLI S.p.A. Feb.17, 1967 [Nov.30, 1966], No.7730/67. Heading G3T. A calender clock having day of the week and date indicating plates which are turned over similarly to the pages of a book is characterized in that the indicating plates are mounted on horizontal axes to give an indication of the day number of the month, the month name, the week day, the hours and the minutes, the hours and the minutes indicating plates 5, 6, 7 being driven by a clock movement and a device being provided for automatically setting the correct day number following the end of each month including a leap year February month. The hours and the minutes plates 5,6,7 form part of a clock described in Specification 1,050,787, a cam 13 on the shaft 12 of the hour plates 5 engaging a pin 14 of a spring-loaded lever 15. At the end of each twenty four hour period, a freely hanging catch 19 is lifted upwards by the lever 15 and engages a pin 20 of a wheel 21 to change the indication of the week day plates 4. At the same time, a seven toothed wheel 23 engages a pin 24 of a lever 25 to rotate the lever 25. An end 25a of the lever 25 in turn rotates a lever 27 attached to a shaft 35 which consequently rotates a lever 38. One arm 38a of the lever 38 moves out of a notch in a wheel 39 whilst another arm 38b closes the contacts of a micro-switch 41. Current is therefore supplied to a practical horsepower motor 54 thus rotating a pinion 50, gears 51, 47 and the wheel 39. A spring-loaded catch 43 prevents the arm 38a re-entering the notch thereby opening the switch until the wheel 39 has made one revolution and a day number indicating plate 2 has been advanced, the gear 47 rotating gears 48, 53, 49 and the shaft 32 of the plates 2. A wheel 31 having three pins 30 of different lengths is also rotated with the shaft 32. At the end of a month with thirty one days, an eccentric wheel 55 attached to the shaft 32 rotates an eccentric wheel 56 attached to a finger 58, so that the finger rotates a twelve toothed wheel 59 by one tooth. A shaft 60 this rotates a month indicating plate 3 via gearing 61-63. A cam 28 is also attached to the shaft 60 and has recess of different depths which co-operate with an arm 27a of the lever 27. Thus at the end of a month with less than thirty one days, the arm 27a enters the appropriate recess in the cam 28 and one or more of the pins 30 holds an end 27b of the lever 27 in its upper position so that the motor 54 is held switched on for two or more advancements o f the day number indicating plates 2. A lever 66, rotating at one revolution in four gears, allow for a leap year by engaging the deepest of the recesses in the cam 28 corresponding to a twenty-eight day February month and reducing its depth, thereby reducing the number of pins that arrest the lever 27 from three to two.
