Abstract
1,170,729. Cabinets. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 13 Sept., 1968 [18 Sept., 1967], No. 43698/68. Heading A4B. A cabinet 4 is divided by horizontal walls 19-21 into a plurality of compartments 1-3 each defining a holder which slidably receives a magazine A containing a pair of magnetic tape spools 5, 6 each having a central opening 7, 8 with teeth 9, 10, each wall 19-21 having lateral, magazine-guiding ribs 14, 15 and being provided with a pair of pegs 30, 31 which engage between adjacent pairs of teeth 9, 10 when the magazine A is fully stored to lock the spools 5, 6 against rotation. The pegs 30, 31 are carried at the ends of a spindle 24 with a cranked, central portion 29 engaged by a spring 28 which biases the spindle to a position in which the pegs 30, 31 are upright. The spindles 24 are supported within the walls 19-21 on surfaces 25, 26 and beneath tongues 27. Leaf springs 12, 13 with bent ends 16, 17 have a soap engagement with projections 18 on the magazine A to hold the latter in its stored position. When inserting on removal a magazine the pegs 30, 31 pivot to rotate the shaft 24 against the action of the spring 28.
