Abstract

1,169,686. Furniture joints. CLAUDE R. OGDEN & CO. PTY. Ltd. 7 Sept., 1968, No. 42686/68. Heading A4H. A leg (not shown) or a chest of drawers (17) or a panel 15 is clamped between angle brackets 10 at the comers of the frame 2, 3 of a table top and spiked swivel feet 8 on which are screwed through fixed nuts 6 in transverse brace members 4 of the frame 2, 3, the angle brackets having an included angle of 95 degrees to 100 degrees. The leg, chest of drawers or panel abuts the limbs 12 of the brackets which are spaced (due to the inclined angle of the bracket) from the frame ends 3 and consequently clamping pressure exerted by the screws 7 is transferred to the nails 13 holding the other limbs 11 of the brackets face to face with the frame sides 2. The limbs 12 have projections 14, which engage in recesses 16 in the panel 15.
