Abstract
1,168,027. Purifying hydrocarbon oils. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.V. 24 July, 1968 [26 July, 1967], No. 35322/68. Heading CSE. A process for the purification of a raffinate phase and/or an extract obtained by extraction of a mixture of organic compounds with a selective solvent comprises subjecting the raffinate phase obtained in the extraction process and/or the extract obtained from the extract phase to a treatment with silica gel and regenerating the used silica gel by a treatment with water. The original extraction may be by a sulpholane or sulpholene, a glycol, pyrrolidone, piperidone, or Sulphoxide, dimethyl formamide or an alkanolamine.
