Abstract
1,168,008. Cable. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 Nov., 1968 [17 Nov., 1967], No. 52341/67. Heading H1A. A cable comprises one or more insulated cores with at least one outer concentric layer of mutually contacting bare wires of copper-clad aluminium, which may be arranged with constant or alternating lay. A metal tape may be wound round the outer layer in a spaced helix and the whole surrounded by a sheath of plastics or an elastomeric material. A binder may be used to hold the cores together. The outer layer may act as a neutral phase conductor and as a protective sheath.
