Abstract

1,167,900. Anti-corrosive pigment compositions. BRITISH PAINTS Ltd. 4 Oct., 1967 [19 Oct., 1966], No. 46663/66. Heading C4A. [Also in Division C3] A priming paint comprises (a) a film former, (b) a mixture of pigments one of which is micaceous iron oxide and another is a chromate, phosphate or molybdate of, for example, Zn, Sr or K. The paint yields a dry film of which 20-60% by volume consists of pigment. Amorphous iron oxide may also be present at a concentration up to 70% by volume of the total pigment less the anti-corrosive pigment. In all the examples the film former is an epoxy resin.
