Abstract
1,167,639. Weighing apparatus. L. OERTLING Ltd. July 15, 1968 [Aug.25, 1967], No.39225/67. Heading G1W. A weighing balance comprises a counterweight 13 fixedly mounted on a balance beam 10 by a support including thermal insulating material separating the counterweight 13 from the beam 10. The support which may be of sintered aluminium oxide may be in the form of a tube 14 having one end portion 14a retained in a groove (15) in the beam 10 by a spring clip 16 and having the other end secured in a recess of the counterweight 13 by adhesive. The beam 10 which may be pivotally supported on a knife edge 11 and which may be provided at one end with a knife edge 12 for supporting a load pan and a weight carrier and at the other end with a scale 18 adjacent to the counterweight 13 may be of metal alloy and the counterweight 13 may be of metal.
