A mowing-knife blade comprises two cutting edges 2, 3 converging toward each other and away from the base 1, and a trapezium-shaped raised guide portion 10 for slidably engaging a co-operating knifeholder. The portion 10 may be pressed out of the material of the blade or may be a separate member fastened to the blade, Fig. 4 (not shown). The surface of the guide member may be hardened.
