1,166,088. Coating apparatus. H. P. O. UNGER and R. RONNBERG. 14 Dec., 1966 [20 Dec., 1965], No. 56012/66. Heading B2L. In applying a coating to selected areas of surfaces of objects 2 fed from a stacking magazine 3 along a worktable 1 to magazine 4 the objects pass beneath coating apparatus comprising a number of coating applying fingers 9 mounted on pivoted arms 7 such that they can be raised and lowered by cam means operated in synchronism with the movement of the objects. The coating fingers may be in solid form or may be formed of absorbent material and fed with liquid coating material from container 17 via valve 18 and a common distributor pipe 15. The objects are fed from magazine 3, stacked in magazine 4, and the cam operating on the coating fingers actuated all, preferably, from a common double acting piston device (Fig. 3, not shown).
