Abstract
1,165,786. Electrical machine armatures. SOC. D'ELECTRONIQUE ET D'AUTOMATISME. 8 May, 1967 [9 May, 1966], No. 21265/67. Heading H2A. Ventilating passages 32 pass between winding conductors 10 . . . 13 and through an electrical rotating machine armature comprising a plurality of adjacent arrays of such conductors which are interconnected by bridging connections to form turns in at least one series circuit having successive conductors in different arrays, the arrays being mutually insulated at the conductor intersections. Although also applicable to cylindrical, linear, or looped types, the armature shown is of the flat, discoidal type formed by printed circuitry, e.g. deposition, or etching. The insulation may comprise varnish 18, 19 on the adjacent surfaces of one or both arrays which are subsequently joined together by a bonding adhesive 17; alternatively, glass beads or a ceramic powder suspended in a phenolic or epoxy resin is used for both insulating and joining the arrays.
