Abstract
1,164,288. Transformers. RUMANIA, MINISTRY OF MACHINE BUILDING INDUSTRY. 24 Nov., 1965 [24 Nov., 1964], No. 36958/68. Divided out of 1,164,286. Heading H1T. A cylindrical magnetic core is formed by simultaneously coiling a plurality of layers of magnetic steel strip, each layer containing at least two strips, and at least one of the longitudinal edges of each strip being staggered in relation to those in adjacent turns of the resultant coil. The strips may be grain-oriented with the orientation axis parallel to the core axis, and the turns may be grouped so as to provide axial cooling channels in the core. The wound core may be annealed and mechanically reinforced.
