Abstract
1,164,019. Copper complexes of reactive disazo dyes. CIBA Ltd. 18 Aug., 1967 [18 Aug., 1966; 6 July, 1967], No. 38225/67. Heading C4P. The invention comprises copper complexes of disazo dyes, which in the form of their free acids correspond to the formula wherein one of the symbols X represents SO 3 H and the other represents a fibre-reactive substituent linked through an -NH- group to the benzene nucleus A represents a naphthalene residue which is bound to the azo bridging group in a position vicinal to the -O- bond, n is 1, 2 or 3, and the residue B may carry substituents or form part of a naphthalene nucleus. They may be obtained by acylating the corresponding compounds in which one X represents NH 2 with the appropriate acylating agents. Examples are given for the production of the dyes. They are useful for dyeing or printing organic materials.
