Abstract

1,163,765. Crimping filaments. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 21 Sept., 1966 [29 Sept., 1965], No. 42208/66. Heading D1F. Compression crimping apparatus comprises an arcuate member positioned around part of the periphery of a roller to define therebetween a stuffing chamber, and means arranged at the outlet of the chamber to apply back pressure on the filaments in the chamber. The means may comprise a weight- or spring- pressed flap pivoted to the arcuate member, or a doctor blade. The arcuate member is adjustably mounted. The roller may be heated electrically or by steam.
