116,357. Sleeman, J. June 8, 1917. Preparing flour and meal from special materials; processes for reduction of grain.-Relates to methods or processes for producing a meal or flour from brewers' and distillers' grains, and consists in drying the wet grains in an ordinary malt-drying kiln fitted with forced draught; the grains being turned over whilst drying; in separating the lighter substances from the heavier by passing through a winnowing machine, aspirator, or other apparatus; and in grinding the separated grain or meal, the ground meal being dressed to remove husk. Two qualities of flour may be separated, the finer being suitable for human consumption when mixed with ordinary flour, and the coarser quality for dog biscuits or poultry food. Flour of malt or malted maize may be added to the meal or flour for human consumption.
